Fearfully and wonderfully made

I use the Bible app, and tonight’s verse is one of my very favorites:

“You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body and knit me together in my mother’s womb. Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex! Your workmanship is marvelous—how well I know it.”

‭‭Psalms‬ ‭139:13-14‬ ‭NLT‬‬

It really captures the miracle that is the human body, and the intention and love that goes into each part that He makes on each person. You are beautiful and perfect in the most lovely, intentional way. Your body is how God made it. He loves you just the way you are. How beautiful an idea, and how hard it is to grasp. I think, especially for women in our society, we lose sight of the utter perfection of our physical bodies, and instead focus on what we think is wrong. Oh, I am so guilty of this! I spend tile criticizing and even, dare I say it, hating so many of my “beautifully complex” parts. I don’t think of it as an insult to God, but didn’t he make me exactly the way He wanted me? Shouldn’t I celebrate that?

I hope that you, reading this verse, feel the majesty of your own physical body. It was indeed fearfully and wonderfully made. You are perfect just the way you are.
