Cabbage!

30 weeks! Oh my gosh…30 weeks and 10 to go.

Baby O is now 15.7 inches long and weighs 3 pounds, about the size of a head of cabbage.

His eyesight is continuing to develop, but even at birth will only be 20/400. He can open and close his eyes, but with them open, can basically only respond to changes in light. (In fact it says he could follow the light of a flashlight if I shined it at my stomach). The changes for me in this time include not sleeping well – which I am definitely not. I can’t fall asleep, can’t stay asleep, can’t get comfortable…I have suddenly become a very light sleeper, and I wake up at the slightest noise, then lie there, tired and annoyed, with my thoughts racing. Yuck. It also says that clumsiness can be an issue, caused by the shift in my center of gravity and loosening of joints and ligaments, but I haven’t had any problems with this yet. Maybe I should stop climbing on ladders, though. Tomorrow…

Overall, I’m still feeling great. Now that the shower has passed, I have a LOT to do, and I’m even feeling a little overwhelmed by it. It’s great, but overwhelming! I need to sort out what I need to purchase, and then set up the things I do have, and in the meantime, try to keep the house de-cluttered and sane. I’m definitely glad the shower wasn’t much later…I don’t know how much energy or mental capacity I’d have for this. 🙂
