My mom saved my troll dolls and now Jacob loves them!
We did a terrible thing.
Mommy and daddy went to Dave and Busters (where Jacob would love to go) without him. We went on a double date with our friends Layton and Katie and it was a lot of fun. We played games like kids (I liked throwback games like skeeball and josh liked computer-y games) and a few wicked games of air hockey that had us all sore the next day or suffering from tennis elbow (OLD ALERT!)
We won tickets and shopped for our littles. Jacob got finger monsters and some wind-up clacking teeth. The monsters reminded me of being little. He loves them!
Here I am, going crazy again. So much photography work (which I am definitely NOT complaining about!) and then life, cleaning, seeing people, being a mommy…
You know.
So I promise I will give you something good. I owe you. In about five seconds.
Yesterday my Jacob insisted on going everywhere dressed as a fireman (or a “fire truck guy” as he called himself.)
This morning he was a construction worker. I love his imagination. I just can’t wait to see who he will be tomorrow.
In more ways than one.
There is something so contagiously hopeful about a child’s dreams of the future. It is a blank slate, and the possibilities are endless.
Keep dreaming, sweet boy. You can be whatever you want to be, I just hope you never lose the sweetness and love for others that you have. Your clothes may change, but I hope your heart remains the same.
So many fun games and crafts at Saddleback! Jacob loved it! We will definitely have to go next year.
Lately everything Jacob says has a “ga” sound: gabrito, gagrage, gabenture, gamote…he’s just so cute, I wish I could bottle him up and save a little reminder of this stage. Sigh.
