Kitchen (half the house, really) updates!

Koal eats sticks and lays in his nest of sticks and toys. 🙂

Lots of doors…

Josh used the long weekend to get a LOT done on the kitchen. I think you will all be amazed! My lack of posting was due to this, as I’d try to be as helpful as I could while Josh was working, and we’d work on it until 8 or later, then have dinner and go to bed.

But I think you’ll agree that it was worth it!

This old linen closet is going away…on Sunday it was neatly demolished by my dad:

Lots of drawers!Josh inscribes the wall before hanging a cabinet over it.

Filling nail holes in his beautiful crown molding with a wax stick. This is not a recommended ladder technique 🙂 Do not try at home!
Josh made this beautiful door and custom vent for our furnace enclosure. You can see another custom vent on the other side of the wall. The new linen closet is a dream!Linen closet, crown, case work around the attic openingA view from one side (it’s dark)A sample so you can get an idea…this cabinet will house the microwave (siting on the solid surface area at the bottom of the photo), my cookbooks (the open nook above the solid surface area), and in the cabinet at top, all of my cookie sheets and trays, which will store vertically with plexiglass dividers. This one will house the fridge…

So…what do you think?! 🙂

Completely breathtaking. That husband of yours is an artist if I ever saw one. I LOVE the wood color, crown molding, vent covers, how transformed the hallway looks just because of the doors! EVERYTHING! Can’t wait to see it in person!
