Halloween!

A recap of 2011’s festivities!

Friday, my sweet husband had a surprise up his sleeve for me, and we went to the Irvine Park pumpkin patch! A solid idea for making me happy 🙂 unfortunately, we got there right when they were closing. But I’d never been to the park so I enjoyed walking around and driving around looking at it, and hiding from peacocks (they are mean, people!)

Saturday night we got dressed up for a Halloween party.I ended up winning for most original costume!Monday night I made a Halloween-themed meal, as I usually do…

Homemade tomato soup

Making cheddar cheese cobwebs - basically shredded cheese with a little paprika, baked until firm and crispy. Delicious on top of tomato soup!

I roasted a chicken; not Halloween-themed, but I thought Josh would want some meat...

A bowl of eyeballs...you'll see why!

Eyeball soup!!! (Courtesy of Martha Stewart)

Chips and Gucamoldy! And the chips are orange and black 🙂

Freshly-baked bonesticks!

Spooky straws!

Then we carved pumpkins!

Guess which is which?

My pretty jackI had to break out my costume shirt one more time:Then we went inside to wait for Trick-or-Treaters and had our dessert of worms and dirt!
