We are going to enjoy this Valentine’s Day! We have a lot planned and pictures to come. Wishing you all a beautiful day filled with my favorite colors, hearts, chocolate, flowers, cupids, and singing birds. Or whatever. 🙂
Jacob and I went to Pretend City yesterday and it was so neat!! It has a bank, fire station, restaurant, farm, house, and other “grown up” structures where kids can play. He loved unpacking the grocery store shelves and stacking and reloading items. He also loved sitting in the play cars and turning the steering wheel (big surprise there!). It was so great to see him moving around and exploring independently. He didn’t need me there at all! I followed him around to keep him out of trouble and just watched. What an interesting thought process he has! It was amazing to see him experience this place. He could play with everything–the toilet and bathtub in the house, the big model teeth and huge toothbrush in the dentist’s office…all the drawers are packed with relevant and safe items and he was in heaven finding them and taking them out.
I really geeked out over the farm with its planters full of rubber mulch “dirt” and faux veggies, trees holding oranges and apples, and incubator with live chicks. There is so much going on here!
Baby Alexis Lynn was born on February 11, 2013 at 3:09 pm. She weighed 5 lb. 15 oz. at birth, and was 19 inches long.
My wonderful husband turned 30 today. We celebrated joyfully…Saturday we had a family dinner with both sets of parents and siblings…EXCEPT Josh’s sister Laci and her husband were missing because they were in the hospital being induced! (I’ll get to that in a minute)
Dinner was great, and we followed it with homemade ice cream cake at our house, and gifts. Josh surprised ME (and it wasn’t my birthday!) by asking everyone for his gift to contribute to Disneyland passes! I’m so excited!! Of course I got Josh a bike for his birthday, so he is all set there. But surprise! I also made a slideshow video of his life. I’ll try to get it on YouTube this week.
Today on his actual birthday we celebrated again. Jacob and I took him out to lunch, and when he got home we had a festive table set and made him a special dinner.

After dinner, we went to the hospital to visit MY NIECE Alexis, who was born on Josh’s 30th birthday. 🙂 How special is that?!
I have so many posts I want to write about and I am just not getting computer time! I’m sorry. 😦 Jacob has been waking up EARLY (like 4:30) and so I can’t get anything done before he’s up and wide awake, ready to play. Also, he’s getting his top molars (the bottom molars have started to break through already!) and he has been a cranky boy. So here are some things I plan to write about:

-Meal planning EXTREME (6 weeks of meals and grocery lists!)

Jacob started walking two weeks ago and it’s been so awesome to watch. It’s amazing to see him develop these skills and improve constantly. Here is a video if him as a new walker:

Before you have kids you hear so many jokes about how beautiful sleeping children are and how much they are loved when they are sleeping and you think “geez, this is overkill. I get it, they are quiet and not messy.”
But then you have one, and while you kind of miss him when he’s sleeping, there is something so magical about it.
So peaceful…
Quiet…
Clean…
Angelic.
