Jacob’s Easter Masterpieces

Perfect day

Today was a Good Friday in more ways than one. 😉

We went to Irvine Park where Josh and Jacob rented a paddle boat and explored the pond. Then we headed to 7-11 for Jacob’s first “slampy” (which is Jacob for “slurpee”). Naturally, he loved it. After that we walked to the store and picked up some impromptu dinner ingredients to smoke on the Traeger. While dinner cooked, we colored eggs, which Jacob was really into (pictures to come). We ended our night cooking “snores” in the backyard. Perfection.

Hmmm.

Is it just me, or am I really big this time??

A clean bill of health

Jacob went to the dentist yesterday and he was so great! He sat still and hardly flinched.

His dentist office is pretty awesome…

Jacob goes to the river

My little guy and big guy had a boys’ weekend at the river without me! Such a grown-up buddy thing to do. 😢 I missed them both, especially when I got pictures like this:   They had a lot of fun, and I got some quiet organizing time and got to reconnect with my BFF and college roomie. But I was happy to get my baby back!

28 weeks

welcome to the third trimester!

I’m feeling pretty good…the antibiotics are kicking in and I feel almost back to normal…the fatigue is not as intense, either because the infection is going away or due to the iron supplement I started. I’m still very tired, but moving around is more taxing than normal. 🙂 I feel absolutely huge. I cringe to think how much bigger I’ll get. I’m feeling a ton of movement, which is awesome (!!) and enjoying each kick and roll. My stomach feels like it’s going to explode right now, which is not the best feeling. The SPD pain hasn’t been too bad, and other than aching back and feet, I physically feel pretty great. I’m soaking up every moment I can with my sweetie pie Jacob. It’s becoming very bittersweet to think that we won’t be “just the two of us” in three months. I do think that having a brother will be an amazing experience for Jacob, but I also feel like it’s the end of an era. I worry about him endlessly. I snuggle him and kiss him and worry that he won’t feel loved when my attention is split. I just pray I can manage both boys well.

That being said, I still can’t really believe a newborn is coming to my house again! I also occasionally wonder if I’m up for the task. Not sleeping has never been my strong suit. 🙂

Currently craving: watermelon. And SO OVER strawberries. Isn’t that weird? Also kind of over grapefruit, but I’ll give it another try. I had days where I would have eaten three or four, but this morning it just didn’t taste that good. I’m hoping just because my taste buds just started to work again, and tart grapefruit is a little overpowering.

I actually took a nice picture that my phone wasn’t involved in, but I haven’t uploaded it yet, so here you go:

My next appointment is on April 22. In May I will go every two weeks, and in June, every week until he is born. My guess is that he will be a little late…so hang in there!

Jacob made a rendering of my face at preschool. I think it’s pretty accurate!
