We got our first CSA produce box. CSA stands for Community Supported Agriculture. It’s a way of ensuring that your produce comes from local farms, farmers, and communities by having it collected and delivered. I got a groupon and had always wanted to try it out. The box was packed with beautiful fruits and vegetables. The contents list is below. We have already had some of the dinosaur kale in our smoothies, eaten apples and mandarins, made a salad with the beautiful lettuce, and eaten the artichokes (they were delicious!). I wanted to challenge myself to cook and eat more different things, and so far I’m very happy with it. There is nothing in the box I cannot use, and I love knowing it is fresh, in season, and supporting local American farmers. We get so out of touch with seasonal produce since we can get anything, any time of year from South America or some other distant place, and farmers here are struggling. Plus, I like knowing that it is nutritionally dense (versus produce that is who knows how old) and free of chemicals. It’s very dirty, of course, because it just came from the ground!
The company we are using is called Farm Fresh to You, and so far I love it! Comment below if you would like the info and a coupon code for $10 off.
Korey, Susi would like the info on this!! And i am hoping Dad will do it too!! Aunt Kere loved doing something similar to this!!
Great variety in your box! We’ve been CSA members for about 5 years and I wouldn’t do it any other way.
