So this (above) was my first attempt at making a hammered metal tag. I think it’s really pretty, but I’m not sure the letters show up very well on it? Also, it takes FOREVER. haha. Next time I think I’ll hammer a silver blank and use it as the bottom of a layered stack…but then the top will have a message and the bottom won’t? I’m not sure what to do with that. Maybe I should experiment with hammering the edges only or something.

It was also my first time using the baby feet stamp. I really like it!

This was my first project, but I just swapped out the bottom blank with this one that says “pray” yesterday. I don’t love this heart stamp. You really have to whack it like a thousand times to get an impression, and even when you get one, it’s not great. I’m kind of bummed.20140226-075146.jpg

As you can see, my “child of God” message was part of the learning process, as parts of the letters are almost too faint to read. Thankfully, I think it goes with the overall distressed look of the metal and doesn’t bother me.20140226-075152.jpgI made this little gem for my wonderful friend who is expecting (I won’t say her name in case anyone reads this that she knows!) I am going to drop it off before this post goes public! 🙂
