I have to thank Krysta Masciale for urging me to watch this powerful lecture on TED about the power of vulnerability and its role in feeling connected to others. It is 20 minutes that you will want to watch several times. And take notes. I feel like every single thing she says is worth writing down! I will keep posting thoughts from this wonderful lecture.

We kid ourselves if we think this is true. Everything we do affects those around us.
There was feasting and trick or treating for our little pumpkin this year.
We had both sets of grandparents and Uncle Riley over for a Halloween-themed meal of Guacamoldy and Halloween chips, Salad, Pumpkin Chili and Cornbread, Butternut Squash Risotto, Pumpkin Polenta, Halloween cupcakes and Worms ‘N Dirt.
We took pictures of Mr. Jacob the Garden Gnome and later did a little trick-or-treating to the neighbors we knew would want to see him. We finished the evening passing out some candy as Jacob put teeth marks in Reese’s cups and peppermint patties (through the wrapper). 🙂

I would like to send a bratty thank you to those who supported us in the 2012 CHOC walk. It was a meaningful day and a great chance for us to give back. Not only did the doctors and nurses at CHOC really do a wonderful job with Jacob, there are so many children who need the services they provide. It was a reminder of all the children who, unlike Jacob, didn’t get to come home. It’s. harsh reality.
Everyone was tied! Hehehe
