My day yesterday
I was gone for two minutes.
I went in the office to clean up jacob’s crayons. I thought it seemed quiet in the house.
I don’t know where he got the lipstick; I’m guessing he learned how to open my bathroom drawers.
Sigh.

All’s well that ends well: I got him clean using Method dish soap. I thought his skin and hair would be stained red but they weren’t. Only the waterline of his eyelids remained red…so he looks like he has been crying for days.
The couch came clean with Dr. Bronners Castile oil soap. I can’t believe how well it worked!

Big Bear Lake, Part I
This could be a record for me–going on vacation and already posting pictures just days afterward!?
We had a lot of fun hiking, boating, biking (not me), talking, eating, dancing (Jacob) and just relaxing!
He was not into having his picture taken, despite the gorgeous light

Nielsen Family Reunion 2013
Well, it’s not the way I imagined this post looking..I had planned on having more pictures of people and events, but due to Jacob’s scary high fever, we were cooped up indoors quite a bit. When we were around the family I was holding him; he didn’t want to be apart from me for an instant. So these are the pictures I could get on a hike and walk around Coloma.
James Marshall discovered gold in Coloma and started the Gold Rush.

(An argonaut is a diver!)
So much cool moss. Am I weird that I find it so interesting?? This (above) might even be an air plant. Super cool.
Beautiful, right? But don’t touch! Yikes…
Josh’s Aunt Shelly and Uncle Luis are performing a flag retirement ceremony. It’s a really neat thing to experience if you haven’t. A worn and battered flag is ceremoniously turned over to the flames. The ashes of the flag are buried in a special spot as well, so that every bit of the flag’s life is full of respect.
An operational blacksmith shop.
Sick Jacob is waving to the camera.
😦 Poor baby
A beautiful fire station in Auburn.
